The Fleeting Duality series became my first intimate revelation of the past. This concept was layered into a twofold theme that investigated the transition between past and present, real and illusory, conscious and unconscious. This work was derived from my photographs in which the intent was to focus on the transparency of glass overlapped with reflected shadows. The cryptic nature of the resulting shapes allowed for building a visual metaphor, representing the mystery of my past. In exploring the tangible and intangible nature of these reflections, the painting process became an inspiration of personal desire, as something elusive, slippery and fleeting.
